The concept of using local honey for allergies is that its pollen content may help build tolerance to airborne allergens, similar to allergy immunotherapy. Regular consumption could reduce symptoms by gradually desensitizing the immune system. Giving pure bee pollen a shot (as in taking a small dose daily) may lead to quicker, more noticeable results.

"Cedar Fever" is a widespread seasonal allergy caused by the pollen of mountain cedars, Juniperus ashei, triggering symptoms similar to the flu for many residents. While not a true fever or related to actual cedar trees, this allergic reaction occurs because fine pollen travels easily from Central to North Texas on winds (some say 300 miles in an hour). Cedar fever season usually lasts from December to February, peaks in January and many suffer well into Spring.
Texas cedar pollen has a high allergenic potential since each mountain cedar tree releases millions of pollen grains.
Cedar pollen season begins in winter and catches many people off guard since pollen can appear even if there are no nearby cedar trees.

At Rockwall Honey Bee Company, we produce many of our own honey products here in North East Texas from our apiaries and our friends' apiaries in the same region. Honey sourced from the Blackland Prairie region here in North Texas contains pollen from the very plants that affect those that suffer from seasonal, plant-based allergies.
Our honey products are real, raw and unadulterated. We care for the health and sustainability of our honey bee colonies and harvest honey with the bees' needs considered first.. never taking more resources than is healthy for the hives. We love our bees, and hope you do too! We also find and research the most unique single-origin nectar source honeys available at family-farm apiaries we know and trust.
Shipping is available for most items ($6.50, flat-rate around DFW). Delivery or pick-up arrangements can be made within the specified region (and from time to time elsewhere in DFW).
